Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Africa, embarked on a transformative journey to modernize its business operations. With operations spanning nine countries and 21 legal entities, CCBA aimed to streamline its finance, supply chain, sales, and manufacturing processes to enhance operational efficiency and collaboration.

“One of our major focuses has been corporate digitization,” begins Joshua Motsuenyane, CIO of CCBA. “This naturally means digitizing across all business areas and, more importantly, digitizing for the customer—creating new routes to market and enhancing existing ones.”

 

“Because CCBA was born out of a merger of different companies, there were a lot of infrastructure redundancies, supply duplications, and lines of accountability that were blurred. We needed to perfect the overall business’ ability to operate as one,” add Motsuenyane.

The project presented several challenges, including:

• Managing the complexity of implementing a unified system across multiple countries with diverse regulatory and operational requirements;
• Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency during migration;
• Equipping end-users across various regions with the training and tools necessary to adapt to the new system;
• Achieving all of this within a tight timeline of just one year.

As a trusted partner, we collaborated with CCBA and other stakeholders to contribute to the successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365. Our involvement focused on:
